Lake Powell July

Aww Lake Powell…Nothing makes you long for Lake Powell like writing about it in the dead of winter. Summer come soon!

We had a wonderful time, especially the kids – playing in the sand, swimming in the water, going on boat rides, eating lots of treats and popsicles. Kris and I had a great time too – wakeboarding, enjoying family time with the kids, eating delicious food.  We’re learning though that, as fun as it is, taking the kids to Powell is definitely more of a trip and less of a vacation. :) We had a good time though.

Here’s Shelby eating an otter pop in her darling little swimsuit.

Someday Kasey will probably be mad that I posted this picture, but this story is too funny.  He had a horrible melt-down – understandable considering how hard he played and how worn out you get at Powell. We tried to help him get changed, but he threw a terrible fit. So, grandma came in to rescue me and calm him down and help him take a nap…and that’s how he fell asleep, too tired to even cope with getting dressed. :)

Go!

Mom didn’t want to feel left out, so we had to have our annual ski run together.  As usual, it take me a few tries to figure out how to ski again after all that wakeboarding. Kris is patient – he’s both an incredible skiier and wakeboarder.

Holding hands…how tender.

Holding…uh…

It’s hard to see Kris in this picture, but he hiked up the crack on the far right of the picture and he is standing in the little horseshoe at the top.
