We had the best trip to Grand Canyon when Heather and Javan came for the summer. (Unfortunately, Kris couldn’t make it there for the Grand Canyon part; he met up with us in Hurricane after we got back and he finished up work.)
On the way, we stopped for a little picnic.
The kids were so glad to be out of the car. Shelby wandered around.
Kasey played catch with Jenny and then Javan…really anyone who would play with him. :)
Cute little Liam with Grandma Nommy.
Jenny, Kasey, me, Shelby.
Me and my little girl.
After our picnic, we drove on to Grand Canyon, dropped off our bags at the cabins, and went to see the sites.
Bowles Family.
The kids and I at the famous Donkey Statue – pretty sure I have pictures next to that donkey when I was a kid.
Here are the “Lincoln Log” cabins we stayed in. Kasey still tells me that he wants to go and stay in the cabins again sometime. We had some of the best times eating our picnic lunch, right outside, in between our 2 cabins. The kids ran around, and we laughed and chatted.

The boys.
Shelby had just given Liam a kiss – it was a tender moment.
Hiking again!

Siblings! Heather, Tif, Jenny, Jon.
Family!
Kasey gets a ride on Jon’s shoulders, oh to be a kid again.
Jen and Jon, having a good time. :)
This bird (I believe a condor) flew right above us! It was incredible!
Here’s where we were when the bird flew over us! (See these fences and the sheer drop offs? I seriously was so afraid the whole time that Kasey was going to get too close and fall off. He kept going to the fence and poking his head out to see down below. And, he had a hard time holding anyone’s hand! But Kasey reassured me – mom there’s a fence! I’m not going to fall! I’m just glad we made it home safe. :) )
Right on top of this arch in the rock.
We had read a sign on the way up there, warning us about lightening strikes. If you see your hair start to rise, leave immediately. Sure enough, Javan noticed Heather’s hair starting to rise! We got out of there fast! :)
Cousin hugs!
This is so precious.
So is this. :)
Shelby, making herself at home.

Kasey, Grandma Nommy, Heather, Jenny, Tif.
What a stud.
Both babies snoozin’ – the thrilling vistas and spectacular views must have been just too much for them. :)
Me and my boy.
Grandpa and the kids.
And now, the views…sunlight streaming through clouds…
Rainbows…
Clear skies…
Rolling storm clouds…
and Bison.
Gorgeous place – we had a wonderful time.
A few more pics – gotta loves cousins in the bath.
I love this pic – Grandma’s taking turns feeding both little babies yogurt as they wait like little baby birds for their turn. So cute.
